Joe Bailey, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, Ga. died Thursday, November 16, 2023.  The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup Church of God of Prophecy and a retired Brunswick Pulp and Paper employee.  He was an avid hunter, including everything from deer to turkeys to hogs.  Joe was a quiet man with a big heart for his family.  He loved the Lord too.  His granddaughter, Katie Bailey preceded him in death along with his parents, Lee and Dorothy Bailey.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Janice Bailey of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Kim (Ashley Parmelee) Bailey of St. Simons; two sons, Jobie Bailey and Chad (Ciara) Bailey, both of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren, Lee, Cole, Josie, Luke, Brileigh Bailey, Finley Piper and Tanner Parmelee; a great grandson, Leebie Bailey; sister, Ivey (Craig) Martin of Mt. Pleasant and brother, Kelly Bailey of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, November 20, 2023 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Gary Ryals officiating. Interment will follow in the Bailey Family Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.  Active pallbearers will be Lee, Cole and Luke Bailey, Chris and Jarrod Manning, Mikey Rhoden.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 PM Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the funeral home.
