Joe Anthony, Sr., 89, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The Corpus Christi, Texas native had lived in Wayne County the past 48 years and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He retired from the Civil Service in Fort Stewart after 30 years. He enjoyed doing life with his late wife, Ivey Dale Mobley Anthony. Joe will be remembered as the ‘perfect gentleman’ in every aspect of his life. Courtesy and kindness were characteristics that marked his personality.

Survivors are his two sons, Joe Anthony, Jr. of Jesup and Gilbert Anthony of Boerne, Tx.; a daughter, Dora Anthony of Pleasanton, Tx.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews including Rudy Reyes.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in Odum City Cemetery with Father Modeste Seloukou officiating.
