Jimmy E. Brinkley, 74, of Screven, Ga. passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia and in the Harborview Nursing Home. The Wayne County native was a member of Ritch Missionary Baptist Church and a carpenter. His parents, Juil and Nevie Thornton Brinkley preceded him in death along with sisters, Katryna B. Hayes and Exie Brinkley; brothers, James Nick Brinkley and Bobby Brinkley.

Survivors are a sister, Zerelda “Zee” (Marion) Brinkley Mullis of Waycross; brothers, Larry Brinkley and Jack Brinkley, both of Screven, Denny (Noel) Brinkley of Ludowici and Jeff (Sandra) Brinkley of Jesup; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, July 17, 2026 at Rinehart Chapel with David Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
