Jerry Rogers, 75, of Hazlehurst, Ga. passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Lumbar City Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. The Wayne County native graduated from Wayne County High School in 1965 and was a local radio announcer, insurance representative, and a salesman for "Down to Earth Company". After attending seminary and being called to preach, he served over 50 years in the ministry and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.  He was a people person and never met a stranger, loved listening to old gospel singing and always watching the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents, Donald Matthew Rogers and Ruby Tyre Rogers; sisters, Ruth Mullis and Joyce Joyner; brothers, Robert Rogers, Laverne Rogers, Dolphus Rogers, Douglas Rogers and Marvin Rogers.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Kathy McLendon Rogers, daughter Brooke (Michael) Duckett of Hazlehurst; two grandchildren, Olivia Duckett and Jacob Duckett; sister, Jennifer Kilgore of Anniston, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Brown and Mr. Michael Beecher officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to services at the funeral home.
