Jerry D. McDaniel, 77, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 surrounded by his family. Jerry opened his business, McDaniel Vending and Food Service, in a shed in his back yard in 1972 servicing Rayonier with their vending and food service needs and provided meals for the Senior Citizen Meals on Wheels and Head Start programs. In 1996, Jerry ventured into the inmate commissary business starting McDaniel Supply Company by servicing Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina prisons and detention centers. Jerry was the Mayor of Jesup for 9 years, and Jesup City Councilman for 6 years. Jerry was a founding officer of the Wayne National Bank, an officer on the boards of Wayne National Bank and the advisory board of Branch Bank and Trust, past president of the Georgia Merchandisers Association, Jesup Jaycees, Georgia Jaycees, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. Jerry was recently honored by The South Carolina Jail Administrators Association "Excellence of Service" Award. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Adonia Earl and Marie McDaniel, his brothers and their spouses, Earl and Ada McDaniel, and Jack and Louise McDaniel.

Survivors are his wife, Lori A. McDaniel of Jesup; a daughter, Stacey Daniels and husband Lee of Odessa, Fla.; a son, Jerry McDaniel and wife Heather of Jesup; a daughter, Jessica Walling of Odum; a daughter, Terrilyn Isles and husband Clinton of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren, Grace and Garrison McDaniel, Gavriela Daniels, Zane Walling and Maddox Berry; sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia and Glenn Carr of Flowery Branch and India Ballinger of Lexington, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Diane McCrary of Jesup and Patty Kicklighter of Glennville; brother-in-law, Danny Anderson of Rincon; mother of Stacey and Jerry, Dailene McDaniel of St. Simons Island and Jesup.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Altamaha Baptist Church, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Jesup, Ga. 31545 with Rev. Jack Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Simon Kirk, Michael McCrary, Matt Davis, Willis Spivey, Danny Anderson and Alan Ballinger. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of McDaniel Supply.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home, 860 Highway 301 South, Jesup, Ga. 31546.
