Jerry L. "Papa Jerry" Hayes, 85, of Jesup, Ga. died Sunday, September 7, 2025. The Wayne County native was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and was a long time Rayonier employee. He enjoyed many hobbies; however, his favorite past time was farming.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda (Mike) Stuckey of Jesup; sons, Ronnie (Suzanne) Hayes of K-ville Community and Van (Teresa) Hayes of Jefferson, Ga.; grandchildren, Hunter (Erika) Stuckey and London (Cameron) Brown, Ethan (Courtney) and Eli (Maggie) Hayes, Jacob, Caroline and Kayla Hayes; 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from Old Bethel Cemetery with Chaplain Phil Bunce officiating.

Family will receive friends at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, GA 31545.
