Jeremiah "J.J." James Rowell, Jr., 17, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.  The Wayne County native attended Crossroads Church of God and was a Wayne County High School student. He could "work a room" with his bright personality and enjoyed being the boss.  J.J. was a jokester who liked to play Xbox and watching YouTube videos. His father, Jeremiah "Jeremy" James Rowell, Sr. preceded him in death along with his grandfather, Bill Moseley and grandmother, Brenda Sweat Rowell; cousins, A.J. Reddish and Peyton Sweat.

Survivors are his mother, Georgia Moseley Rowell and siblings, Lauren Whitley and Lucas Mason "Luke" Rowell, all of Jesup; grandparents, Clora Moseley and Jerry Edwin Rowell; aunts and uncles, Lawrence and Vanessa Moseley of Jesup, Sheriff Chuck and Jennifer Moseley of Screven, Cindy and Alex Reddish of Jesup, Billie Jo and Buddy Starling of Jesup, and Kimberly and Ronnie Poppell of Jesup, Richard William "Richie" Rowell of Alma; several cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, June 10, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Reverend and Cousin, Walker Reddish and Coach Jamie Knight officiating. Family interment will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be his cousins.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM  prior to services at the funeral home.
