Dorothy "Jean" Bennett Hickey, age 92, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 31, 2023. She was a Fernandina native but lived in Wayne County, Ga. for most of her life and was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and loved flowers, playing cards, baking, shopping, and being an awesome "Nana." Family was everything as she devoted her life to rearing her children and spoiling her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her favorite pastime was swinging on her front porch. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Josephine Bennett, her husband Stanley Hickey Sr.; brothers, Luther "Tug" Bennett, Louis Bennett, Hubert Bennett, and sisters Louise Shealey, Grace Peters, Kathryn Hickey, and Helen Paasche; a son-in-law Roger Lewis, and two grandson-in-laws Gene Beverly and Daniel Lynn.

Survivors include 5 children, Pam (Henry) White, Paula Lewis, Rhonda (Charles) Scott, Stanley (Peggy) Hickey Jr., all of Jesup and Renee (B.W.) Clark of Athens; a brother, Cecil Bennett of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Nicole (Daniel) Lynn, Amanda (Lamar) Joiner, Adam Scott, Ashleigh (Matthew) Johnson, Alan (Erica) Scott, April (Trey) Davis, Amy (Davy) Owens, Matthew (Mandy) White, Taylor (Jake) Powell, and Lindsay (Eli) Garrett and 25 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be 2 PM Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with B.W. Clark and Pastor Garth Duke-Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and granddaughters' spouses.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
