Screven, Georgia James H. "Sonny" Napier, 66, of Screven, GA, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA, after a short illness. The Florida native and former resident of St. Augustine, FL, had lived in Wayne Co., GA, most of his life and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for most of his life, a former Officer with the Jesup Police Department, and a U. S. Army Veteran. He was predeceased by his wife: Sylvia Elaine Donahue Napier, his parents: John and Lottie Napier, 3 sisters: Cathy Garrett, Mary Roberts and Betty Mae Wright and a brother: John William Napier. Survivors are 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: John Napier, James and Terrie Withrow Napier, both of Screven, GA, sisters: Hazel Eckenroad of Bellvue, FL, Bertha Reynolds and Becky Farr, both of St. Augustine, FL, Willie Lee Watkins of Carrollton, GA, best friend: Paul Stephens, Jr., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 P. M. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Dennie Waters officiating. Interment will be held in the Bethlehem Cemetery with American Flag Presentation by the American Legion Post #311. Active pallbearers will be: Thomas Flowers, Bill Stephens, Grant Lewis, Ryan Wilkerson, Kelly Krantz, Bill Miller, and Freddie Coley. Visitation will be 1 to 2 P. M. Tuesday at the church prior to services. The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
