Elder James Donald “Jim” Osborne, 86, of Jesup, Ga. and the Mt. Pleasant Community died Saturday, September 26, 2026. The Screven, Ga. native was a member of Jesup Primitive Baptist Church, 311 American Legion, a 1958 graduate of Screven High School, a U.S. Army Veteran and a 35-year retiree with Rayonier. For several years, he pastored several Primitive Baptist churches. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, bluegrass music, traveling and researching history. He was deceased by his parents, Herman and Ida Sheffield Osborne, a son, Mark Osborne, and a sister, Wanda Osborne.

Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Vicky Howard Osborne of Mt. Pleasant Community; a son, John Osborne of Jesup; 2 daughters, Teresa Scarborough of Jesup and Debra (James) Dodge of Ludowici; a sister, Glenda Osborne of Jesup; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and many cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home with Elder Keith Tillman and Durwood Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery with U.S. Flag Presentation. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
