James Carlton Batten, 44, of Odum, Ga. passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023. The Wayne County native was a handyman, working several different jobs and loved everything outdoors and could build anything. His mother, Julie Ann Batten, preceded him in death.

Survivors are a daughter, Brianna (Cole) Winchester of Jesup; a son, Alex Batten of Odum; one grandchild, Beau Winchester; his father, Gene Batten of Odum; sister, Dedria (Mark) Westberry of Jesup; two brothers, Matt (Christy) Batten, Jordan Batten; and paternal grandmother, Evelyn Westberry all of Odum; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
