Odum, Georgia

Jackie Johnson Perkins, 90, of Odum, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The Patterson, GA, native was a faithful servant of Odum Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She was a retired Southern Bell telephone operator and also retired from Jesup Manor Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Jimbo Perkins and 7 siblings.

Survivors are 2 daughters, Marcia Mathison of Valdosta, Sarah (John) Zaruba of Palatka, FL, 3 sons, Matt (Sarah) Mathison of Folkston, Bill (LuAnn) Mathison of Odum, James Perkins of Odum, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Odum Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Todd and Linda Moseley officiating. Interment will follow in the Odum City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Family will receive friends an hour before the funeral on Wednesday at the church.
