John "Jack" Thompson, 63, of Jesup, Ga. died Friday, June 7, 2024.  The Wayne County native was a retired self-employed carpenter and enjoyed fishing, cooking for family and was a substitute granddaddy "Uncle Jack" to all of his nieces and nephews.

Survivors are his sisters, Karen Sharp and Teresa (Maris) Harrison, both of Jesup; brothers, Jason (Melody) Thompson of Crawfordville, Fla. and Yancey Thompson of Jesup; a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Memorial services are being held by his family.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
