Obituary

Harold Paul, Jr., 86, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Johnson County native had lived in Wayne County most of his adult life. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class. The U.S. Army Veteran was a co-owner of the Tri County Cable based out of Lakeland and retired from Rayonier. He was a family man from all aspects of life. His wife and loyal companion of 61 years, Sarah Hawkins Paul preceded him in death along with their forever grandson, Joshua David "J.D." Paul and sister, Sharon Gordon.

Survivors are two sons, Steven (Dena) Paul of Blackshear and David (Chrisine) Paul of Jesup; two grandchildren, Blaine (Carson) Paul of Statesboro and their son, Baylor (great grandson) and Hannah Grace Paul of Jesup; a sister, Betty Padgett of Garden City; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Vann Dempsey and Pastor Pete Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Carl Rozier, Mike Highsmith, George Moody, Jim Franklin, Bobby Hughes, Ferrell Smiley, John Rogers, Fred Holland and Pete O'Quinn. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
