Harold Edsel "Big Eddie" Middleton, 66, of Hortense, Ga. passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.  The Wayne County native had lived in Brantley County most of his life and was of the Church of God faith.  The retired commercial and residential painter loved to fish and cook in his free time but his favorite pastime was spent being a Papa.  His parents, Harold Elzie and Aletha Middleton preceded him in death along with his two sisters, Jean Wingate and Amy Middleton and two brothers, Charles and Andy Middleton.

Survivors are his 3 sons, Eddie (Chelsea Harris) Middleton, Donald (Cheyenne Turner) Middleton and Aaron Middleton, all of Hortense; several adopted-in-love children; grandchildren, Macee, Ella, Briar, Levi, Zoe, Paislee and Lilly Lee; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, November 10, 2025 at Rinehart Chapel with James Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Middleton Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
