Gerald A. DeWitt, 76, of Jesup, Ga. died Sunday, February 4, 2024. The Jacksonville, Fl. native was a life long resident of Wayne County and a member of Jesup Church of God. He was a retired Environmental Manager with Rayonier and served as a Jesup City Commissioner for 21 years, and a long- term National Guardsman.  His leisure time was spent traveling, gardening, fishing, and enjoying music and art.  He was predeceased by his parents, Wiley Monroe and Gertrude Irene DeWitt.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Linda Driggers DeWitt of Jesup; a daughter, Melissa Dewitt of Pooler, Ga.; granddaughter, Rain Dewitt of Savannah; siblings, Monroe, Nina, Rodger, Ralph, Jackie, Wylene and Robert.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Februrary 7, 2024 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Jonathan McCullough speaking. Private interment will be held in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
