Obituary

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of George Willard Williams, Jr. He left us to be with the Lord on March 25, 2026. His wife of 44 years was by his side when the angels came to receive George. He leaves a legacy name his family has carried forward, George, Sr., Jr., III, and IV so far.

George lived a full life and had a strong faith. He and Charlotte lived on St. Simons Island for 9 years and Amelia Island for 35 years, where he surfed all the local beaches. He taught his two children, Trey and Sarah Ashley to surf along with his 4 grandchildren. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and God’s Word, as he faithfully led his family to church. George’s motto was “keep your word, it is your badge of honor”. After retiring after 34 years as a maintenance supervisor in the chemical industry, he enjoyed his family and surfing immensely. His parents, George Willard Williams, Sr. and mother, Lydia Joan Bennett Williams preceded him in death.

In addition to his wife Charlotte and children, George Willard Williams, III “Trey) and wife, Marlena and Sarah Ashley Williams also survive. 3 siblings, Marion Lee Williams, Joseph Cameron (Kellie) Williams and Melissa Williams (Harry) Devlin; several nieces, nephews and 22 first cousins on both sides of the family.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 PM, April 4, 2026 in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 50 Akin Road, Jesup, GA 31546.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to your local church.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
