George Elmer Roberson, 85, of Jesup, Ga. died Monday, August 25, 2025. The Wayne County native loved the Lord and was an active member, deacon and Sunday School teacher of Altamaha Baptist Church and former member and deacon of Anderson Drive Baptist Church. George was a retired ITT Rayonier employee.  The Baxley Children's Home was very important to him as he served as a Trustee for many years. George was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge in Blackshear. This godly man had very few words but very family centered and a "Jack of all Trades".  Fishing was a favorite hobby but he really enjoyed watching action movies and westerns.  His former wife of 54 years, Patricia Wright Roberson preceded him in death along with his sister, Mary Smith and two brothers, Harold "Frog" and Jerry Roberson.

Survivors are a his wife, Joann Crosby Dukes; a son, Jeff (Emily) Roberson of Jesup; daughter, Becky (Nicki) Roberson of Jesup, 8 grandchildren, Woog, Hunter, and Laura Kate Roberson, Bekah (Nicholas) Priester, Brittany Bennett, Paige and Riley Denison, and Demi (Chris) Edenfield; 4 great grandchildren, Eli, Emma, Eryn Edenfield and Violet Priester; 3 brothers, Isham (Sharon) Roberson, Gopher Roberson and Steve Roberson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Rinehart Chapel. Private family interment will follow in the Altamaha Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Edenfield, Otis Moxley, Woog Roberson, Nicholas Priester, Ben Cason and Dennis Dunham.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the funeral home.
