Gary E. Bodnar, 66, of Screven, Ga. passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The Ohio native had lived most of his life in Florida and in Wayne County the past several years. He was a Christian who enjoyed God’s creation, especially in the mornings with his coffee. Watching the sunrise and seeing the new blooms in the garden were favorite times of his day. His family stated, “If it was broken, he would fix it.” The Jack of all trades would be a sufficient description of Gary but he was known to love fishing also. His parents, Edward Michael and Bernice Schneider Bodnar preceded him in death.

Survivors are two sons, Eric (Ashley) Bodnar and Garrett Bodnar, both of Screven; an adopted son, James-Clarence Dean; 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Kathy Bodnar, Debbie Geddes and Elizabeth Rose; a brother, Michael (Barbara) Bodnar; several nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services will be held by the family.
