Frances McCall Sapp, 89, of Jesup died May 29, 2026 surround by her loved ones. The Wayne County native was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and a life-long nurse. She began her career as a registered nurse at Dr. Richard Moody’s office in the 1970’s and retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital after 33 years of service and then assisted with instruction of licensed practical nurses at Altamaha Technical College. She was an avid Georgia Southern Eagle fan, loved traveling, dancing, walking on the beach, and spending time with family. She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Jennings McCall, a sister, Jackie Johnson, a son, Randy Sapp, and her beloved husband, Luvern Sapp.
She is survived by her children, Mike Sapp, Tina (John) Benner, Gary (Shelia) Sapp, Mark (Melanie) Sapp, and Tracy (Kevin) Vanderveen, all of Jesup; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan (Robin) Benner, Jessica (Clayton) Conners, Chad (Whitney) Sapp, Maria (Ross) Morris, Timothy (Jessica) Vanderveen, Kasey (Sid) Royal, Matthew Vanderveen, Zach, Jacob, Jordan, Michaela, and Addison Sapp; 8 great-grandchildren; her beloved sisters-in-law, Frances Shupe of Panama City Beach, Fl. and Jeanette Sapp of Jesup; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sapp of Saint Simons Island; cousin, Earl Richardson of Augusta Georgia.
Graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2026 from Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Vann Dempsey and Rev. Devin Mixon officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Family will receive friends at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Altamaha Baptist Church, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
The family wishes to thank employees of Hospice of South Georgia and Lakeview Retirement Center of Baxley, Ga. for their care and compassion for Frances and her family.
