Eric Jason Strickland, 47, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. The Wayne County native and former resident of New Kent, Virginia was a former iron worker with a Local Union. He loved trips to the beach where he would fish and crab with his son. Tinkering with old cars is another favorite pastime as he could fix almost anything. Eric used humor to entertain others and was loving towards his family, especially his children. His father, Daniel Lee Strickland, preceded him in death along with his brother, Dwayne Michael Strickland and grandparents, Ingeborg “Omi” Gertrude Ida Tagge Delk, J.W. Strickland and Opal Fetner.

Survivors are his children, Tylar (Johnny) Chandler and Jackson Strickland of Virginia and their mother, Amanda Laxton Strickland; his mother, Christine Boyd of Jesup; brother, Justin Clayton Boyd of Jesup; sister-in-law, Robin Strickland of Brunswick; nieces and nephews, Camilla and Marshall Strickland; Maddie, Chance, and Evan Laxton, his nieces and nephews by love; former father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eddie and Cheryl Laxton.

A celebration of his life will be 9 AM Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Rinehart Chapel with Johnny Chandler officiating.
