Emory Arnold, Jr., 80, of Jesup, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the Wayne Memorial Hospital after a short illness and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He worked many years for Florida Rock and Tank Lines out of Savannah. The U. S. Navy Veteran was a loving father and husband and was best known as a "gentleman of his word". Emory enjoyed NASCAR racing and taking care of his lawn. He was predeceased by his parents, Emory Arnold, Sr. and Bertie Lee Arnold; a daughter, Reba Joe Brown; brother, Arnell Arnold and a step-daughter, Chris Loper.
Survivors are his wife of 24 years, Jackie Arnold of Jesup; daughter, Candice Lee Arnold of Lake Park; two sons, Kenny Arnold, Sr. of Inverness, Fl. and Brian Arnold of Valdosta; a brother, Jerone Arnold of Lyle, Tn.; step-children, Phil (Judy) Echols of Jesup, Jerry (Jennifer) Echols of Midway, Dixie (Eddie) Walls of Reidsville, Carla (Paul) Ray of Jesup, Tracy Gordon; granddaughter, Joi Harbaugh; several other relatives.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Phil Echols speaking.
The family will receive friends prior to services.
The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of the arrangements.
