Jesup, Ga. Emory B. Davis, 84, of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in Valdosta, Ga. after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Georgia native was a member of Jesup Church of God and was associated with Vann's Laundry and Dry Cleaners of Jesup, Ga. He was a Wayne County School bus driver and was honored to drive the Wayne County Girls Softball Team to many events. He had a passion for farming, growing and sharing with others and spent many years as a Wayne County Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed membership in the Jesup Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, displaying his American Flag at his residence for many years. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting with people. Survivors are his wife of 60 plus years: Jerrie Vann Davis of Jesup, Ga.; a daughter: Pamela M. Davis of Jesup, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law: Jerry V. and Linda Davis of Valdosta, Ga.; a brother: Grady "Buck" Davis of Jacksonville, FL.; 2 grandsons: Brett and Susan Davis of Suwannee, Ga., Patrick and Elisabeth Davis of Valdosta, Ga.; 4 great-grandchildren: Elyse, Cathryn, Ansley, and Everett Davis; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 20, 2010 from the Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Moxley officiating. Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Active pallbearers will be: Roy Davis, Don Davis, Joe Davis, Tim Green, Jim Westberry, & Kyle McCrary. Honorary pallbearers will be: Anita's Sunday School Class of Jesup Church of God. Visitation will be from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2010 from the funeral home.
