Elouise Withrow Ogden, 84, of Odum, Ga. passed away under Hospice of South Georgia care on April 7, 2024. The Wayne County native was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and formerly of Piney Grove Church of God. Her career was established in 1960's in the Wayne County clerk's office. She worked as a deputy clerk for many years until retirement and then was elected Wayne County's first female Clerk of Court. She found enjoyment gathering and compiling the family genealogy, visiting with others, working in her yard, and caring for her cats. Family will remember her for hosting many fun summer events at Cherokee Lake with swimming, water skiing, cookouts and making homemade ice cream.Her husband, Howard Pye Ogden preceded her in death along with her parents, Joe and Rilla Withrow; sister, Betty Davis and brother, Pete Withrow.
Survivors are a sister, Barbara Dunn of Jesup; brother, Ed Withrow of Brunswick; many beloved nieces and nephews; sister-in-love, Sheila (Jerry) Jones of Odum and sister-in-law, Eleanor McGuire of Florida.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Piney Grove Cemetery with Rev. Mark Ledbetter officiating.
Family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 p.m. prior to services at the cemetery.
