Obituary

Ella Frances "Patty" Dixon Maxey, 96, of Odum, Ga. died Thursday, August 15, 2024. The Pierce County native had lived in Wayne County most of her adult life and was a member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church and a life-long homemaker. Her enjoyment was crocheting, reading and gardening but she was most proud of being "Granny" to her family. She was the widow of William Neal Maxey and was also predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Ivey, a granddaughter, Kimberly Paradise Ross, great granddaughter, Emma Wilkerson, two sons-in-law, Jake Ivey and Danny Stephens, as well as several siblings.

Survivors are 3 daughters, Brenda (Art) Paradise of Charlotte, NC, Glenda Stephens and Jill Maxey, both of Odum; a son, Bill (Lori) Maxey of Odum; a sister, Betty Middleton of Waycross; two half-sisters, Carol Usher and Sharon Dixon; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with eulogy presented by grandson Mark Ivey and Don Pye officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
