Eleanor Ogden McGuire, 94, of Odum, Ga. passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.  A proud native of Wayne County, Eleanor embraced a life of adventure and devotion as a military wife, she traveled the world and made homes in many cities, faithfully supporting her husband and family wherever they were stationed.  No matter where life took her, she carried with her a steady faith and a heart devoted to her family.

Eleanor attended Calvary Chapel in Palm Harbor, Fla. and loved her Lord deeply, finding strength and comfort in reading her Bible.  Her faith guided her life and was evident in her kindness, patience, and strength.

She was especially gifted with her hands and had a remarkable talent for quilting. Each quilt she made was stitched with care, creativity, and love-treasured gifts that will continue to warm her family for generations.

Her beloved husband, William McGuire preceded her in death along with her parents, Walter and Gertie Ogden; her sister, Dorothy Ogden and her brothers, Walter, Jr., Howard and Eddie Ogden.

Survivors are her daughter, Becky (Gerry) Tibbetts; son, William (Kathryn) McGuire; grandsons, Jonathan Tibbetts and Zach McGuire; sister, Sheila (Jerry) Jones; several nieces and nephews; Sisters in Christ, Joanne Howard and Kathleen Murdock.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, March 1, 2026 in Piney Grove Cemetery with Rev. Scott Hatten officiating.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services in the cemetery.
