Eldred B. King, 90, of Jesup, Ga. died March 19, 2023. The Wayne County Georgia native attended Epworth Methodist Church and was a 35-year retired Utilities Superintendent for Rayonier. He held his job with Rayonier as one of his most enjoyable endeavors. Most of his fellow workers acknowledged his efforts with his team spirit of "Making People Better" a goal for all employees within his reach until retirement in 1993. His leisure time was spent enjoying reading, traveling, tree farming, bicycling, running and walking many miles and staying in touch with friends and coworkers.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was in the 82 ^nd Airborne Division with 15 missions to his credit. He is predeceased by his parents; Islam McLendon King and Anna Bishop King; siblings Edna, Evie, Ellis, Estelle and Ernestine; a granddaughter, Katelyn Anna King.

Survivors are the best decision ever made, his wife, Dixie Thompson King of Jesup, Ga.; son, Jefferson (Sheree Gordon) King; 2 super wonderful grandsons, Spencer and Weston King of all Naperville, Illinois.

Private graveside funeral services were held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Larson officiating.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, Ga. was in charge of arrangements.
