Edna Ruth Pitman Dukes, 80, of Odum, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The South Carolina native had lived in many places but had resided in Wayne County the past 42 years and was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.  She spent hours designing and creating her clothing, painting, quilting and gardening. Her husband of 54 years, Lt. Col. Douglas W. Dukes (USAF Ret.)  preceded her in death along with her son, Donald Lindsay Grace.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Guillot of Jesup, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Heidi Dukes of San Antonio, Tx., Daniel and Tara Dukes of Herndon, Va.; 6 grandchildren, Taylor Guillot, Nathan and Jacob Dukes, Zachary (Danielle) Guillot, Jackson and Willem Atticus Dukes; 3 great-grandchildren, Kari, Luna and Blisselyn Hiers; several nieces, nephews  and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with family speakers. Interment will follow in the Priester Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her family.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of South Georgia Building Fund, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
