Edith “Kathy” Houg, 83, of Jesup, Georgia, passed away on September 14, 2026, surrounded by family under hospice care in Jesup.

Kathy was born on September 5, 1943, in Blackshear, Georgia. She found joy in creating and caring for things, whether she was tending her garden, preparing something in the kitchen, painting, or working on a crochet project. Through the things she grew, made, and shared, Kathy left behind reminders of the care and creativity she brought to everyday life. Her family will remember the life she built alongside James, the things she created with her own hands, and the many ordinary moments that become treasured memories with time. Her legacy continues through the generations of family who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, James Houg.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Teresa Todd; her granddaughter, Kim Yardman, and her husband, Seth Yardman; and her six great-grandchildren, Orion, Ronan, Nathaniel, Jeremiah, Daymen, and Cassidy.

A private ceremony will be arranged at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that those wishing to offer support consider making a contribution toward Kathy’s funeral expenses.
