Dorothy Davis Rouse, 98, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Born in Thomasville, Ga.in 1924 to Joseph Cleveland Davis and Clara Cofield, with three sisters and one brother. Dorothy married James B. Rouse and were happy for 67 years of marriage. Most of her adult life she was a hairdresser, caregiver, and great babysitter for her family. She loved and adored all her children and grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death along with her parents.

Survivors are two daughters, Kathryn "Kitty" Rouse Barkoskie and Betty J. "Jimmie" Rouse Batten; 4 grandsons, Carl Jr., Jamie Barkoskie, Timothy and Andreu Batten; sons-in-law, Carl Barkoskie, Merrill Batten; and one granddaughter, Kimberli Batten Garcia; 7 great-grandchildren, who all called her "NANA"; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Screven City Cemetery, 300 Odum Screven Road, Screven, GA 31560 with the Rev. Stanley Todd officiating. Active pallbearers will be her family.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery.
