Doris Popwell Corry, 76, of Jesup, Ga. died, Tuesday July 4, 2023. The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup Church of God and a retired cosmetologist. Her talents were cooking and she worked hard to pass these skills to her family. Fishing and crabbing were also favorite pastimes.

She was deceased by her husband, Johnny James Corry, Sr. and daughters, Penny Dee Corry and Donna Sue Popwell Wiggins; sister, Wanda Popwell Moody; brother, Benjamin Hargrett Popwell.

Survivors are sons, Johnny (Liz) Corry, Jr. and Tommy (Sharon) Corry both of Jesup; grandchildren, Penny Mancil, Adam Corry, Ashley Williams, Chelcie Corry, Johnny J. "Tripp" Corry, III; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2023 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Dowd and Rev. Scott Hatten officiating.

Interment will be in Little Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tripp Corry, James "Juke" Johns, Tyler Turner, Brandon Turner, Adam Corry, and Eric Swilley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Lance Hendrix and his staff.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
