Donna "Binky" Yates, 72 of Winterville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Jesup Health and Rehab under the compassionate care of Georgia Hospice Care, following complications from stage four cancer.

Born to the late Vernon Walker Yates and Nona Faye Landon Yates of Jesup, Donna always knew her calling was nursing. She earned her Registered Nurse Degree from Armstrong State College and devoted more than fifty years to caring for others. Her distinguished career spanned home health, hospice, and utilization review, reflecting her lifelong commitment to ensuring quality care for every patient.

Beyond her professional life, Donna had a deep love for old homes and beautiful antiques. Her passion for flowers and plants led her to become a Master Gardener through the University of Georgia, where she shared her knowledge and joy of gardening with others.

Donna is survived by her loving brother, Carl W. Yates of Douglas; her daughter, DeLorean Elise Strickland of Winterville; and her cherished granddaughter, Hayden Elizabeth Henderson of Winterville.  She also leaves behind two beloved aunts, Evonne Poppell of Odum and Mary Ann Landon of Jesup, as well as many cousins and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her precious 10-year-old daughter, Sarah Victoria McPipkin of Winterville, who also passed away from cancer.

In light of the Thanksgiving season, a private remembrance service for family will be held at a later date.

Donna's life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
