Dixie Thompson King, 92, of Jesup, Ga. entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 23, 2025 under the care of At Home Senior Living. She was a Tatnall County native and had lived in Wayne County most of her adult life and was a 1950 graduate of Jesup High School. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a 33- year retiree with ITT Rayonier. She was predeceased by her parents, Jefferson Grady Thompson and Nola Walker Thompson who had a small farm in the 1940's which shaped her hard work ethic and financial values that lasted a lifetime.  She met and married the "love of her life," Eldred B. King, in 1952 and they had enjoyed 70 years together before his death in 2023. All who knew them would say they were joined at the hip and vowed to always pay for what they had and to never owe the other fella. They were blessed with a son, Jeff King and his family, who she traveled with extensively and enjoyed all of the sports and education endeavors.

In addition to her husband, Eldred King, she is also predeceased by her siblings, Sadie Kline, Nora Jordan, Martha Brennan, Grannon Thompson and Harry Thompson as well as a granddaughter, Katelyn Anna King.

Survivors are a son, Jeff (Sheree) Gordon King of Naperville, Illinois; two grandsons, Spencer and Weston King of Naperville; a brother, Ross (Dean) Thompson of Jesup; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2025 from Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Larson officiating.
