Dewitt Teston, 81, of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, August 15, 2023.  The Wayne County native was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. The family man was also a preacher for the nursing home ministry for over 40 years.  He also filled in the church pulpit when he was needed. Dewitt could be considered a "bird nerd" as he loved to feed and watch the various kinds of birds in his yard. His parents, Kermit and Mary Ellen Teston preceded him in death along with his sister, Mary Louise and brothers, Kenny and Jimmy.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Una Aspinwall Teston of Jesup; a daughter, Donna Johnson and son, Gary Teston, both of Jesup; a grandson, Austin Johnson; a sister, Faye (Roger) Thornton of Jesup; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Bob Richardson officiating.   Interment will follow in the Jesup City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be his church friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
