Delia Tillman Dent, 90, of Odum, Ga. died Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The Wayne County native was an active member of Altamaha Baptist Church where she served in many positions and enjoyed choir directing for 34 years.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.  Her Sunday dinners showed this love to her family and they all enjoyed the memories on the front porch with her and her friends. The Wayne County Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Braves were two teams she cheered on for years.  Her husband of 65 years, Elton Dent preceded her in death along with her parents, Curtis and Ollie Tillman; brother, J.B. Tillman and a great grandson, Issac Tillman.

Survivors are a daughter, Wanda (Allen) Hayes of Jesup; sons, Elmer (Mary Anne) Dent of Jesup, Craig (Sharon) Dent of Mill Springs, NC and Ricky (Amy) Dent of Odum; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, April 5, 2024 at Altamaha Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Richardson and others officiating. Interment will follow in Altamaha Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class, "Love thy neighbor" members and the staff of Hospice of South Georgia.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
