Jesup, Ga. Deborah "Debbie" Rouse Linkous, 55 of Jesup, Ga. died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with Huntington Disease at Coastal Manor in Ludowici, Ga. She graduated from Wayne County High School in 1974 as a National Honor Society member for academic achievement and a Beta Club member. She attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga. and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. Even though health issues interrupted her childhood dream of becoming a doctor, she continued to excel in many areas of life exhibiting great talent and perseverance. Playing the piano, cross-stitching and cooking were favorite pastimes. Survivors are her husband of 23 years, Jeffery A. Linkous of Jesup, Ga.;a son, Robert A."Andy" Linkous of Jesup, Ga.; her parents, H.E. "Gene" and Pat Jones Rouse of Jesup, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Teresa Rouse of Shellman Bluff, Ga.; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Danny Stillwell and Rev. Harold Hand. Interment will be in Omega Cemetery in Baxley, Ga. Active pallbearers will be Mitch Beverly, Bryan Roberts, Cal Roberts, Zach Roberts, Justin Roberts, Josh Atkinson and Andrew Radcliffe. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Wayne County Home Health and staff and caregivers of Coastal Manor Nursing Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
