Dayla Proctor Bunton, 64, of Jesup, Ga. died Saturday, September 16, 2023.  The Pierce County native and 1977 Camden County High School Graduate had lived in Wayne County for most of her adult life and was a Baptist.  She was employed with Martha Rawls Smith Elementary School.  Her father, Royce Hubert Proctor preceded her in death.

Survivors are her companion, Jerry Gray, Sr.  of Jesup; mother, Iona Johns Proctor of Brunswick; daughters, Christina Lynch, Danielle Jones and Iona Rooks, all of Jesup; two sons, John Bunton and Jerry Gray, Jr., both of Jesup; two brothers, Royce Proctor of St. Mary's and Ben Proctor of Albany; 4 grandchildren and a great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, September 21, 2023 in the New Hope Cemetery in Hickox with Rev. Dale Bange officiating.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
