David Woods, 63, of Screven, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.The Pierce County native was an avid motorcyclist who loved his Harley and completed many trips with his wife and made many memories along the way. Another hobby was fishing and he didn't even care if he caught anything but was thankful to enjoy nature in the Altamaha River.  David was a member of Screven First Baptist Church and worked for over 30 years for Wayne Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist. He is predeceased by his mother, Dixie Youmans, his sister, Katie Hernandez and grandparents, Kathleen and T. C. Roberson.

Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Phyllis C. Woods of Screven; 3 sons, Stephen, Chris and James; his mother-in-love, Edna Counts of Jesup; brother, Corbette (Hope) Woods of Blackshear; several grandchildren, a niece and 3 nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday, May 31, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Paul Eastwood officiating. Private burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery in Blackshear.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
