David O. Davis, 77, of Odum, Ga. died Sunday, August 17, 2025. The South Carolina native had lived in Wayne County most of his life, was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Altamaha Baptist Church. He was a retired Georgia Department of Transportation employee and later started his own business appraising for the state highway system. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, he participated in all Wayne County sports and was very involved in athletic endeavors. He was predeceased by a beloved daughter, Ondie Davis Phillips and a brother, Daniel Davis.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Ogden Davis of Odum; a son, Adam (Heidi) Davis of Brooklet, Ga.; a sister, Betty Ann (Charles) Pilgrim of Liberty, SC; grandchildren, Bradley (Mallorie) Phillips and his dad, Michael Phillips of Jesup, Alex (Mary) Davis and Daisy Davis, both of Brooklet; great grandchildren, Brady and Ada Kate; several special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Altamaha Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.  Private family interment will follow in Altamaha Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church.
