Jesup, Ga.

David "Buddy" Strickland, 71, of Jesup, died Monday, February 6, 2017, at his daughter's residence after an extended illness. The Glynn County native lived in Wayne County most of his life, was a member of Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, and retired carpet installer. He enjoyed making furniture, crafting, and fishing. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Thelma Crawford Strickland; several siblings.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila (Joey) Nash of Jesup; sons, Shane Strickland and David Davis of Jesup, and Kenny Strickland of Ocala, Florida; sister, Hazel Strickland of Culpepper, Virginia; brothers, Gene and Wade Strickland of Culpepper, Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins;  special friend, Maxine Loper of Jesup.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Worley officiating. Private interment will be held by the family.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to service at the funeral home.
