Daniel "Danny" E. Harris, 76, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.  The Wayne County native was a member and deacon of Gardi Baptist Church.  The Air Force Veteran was a pipefitter with Local Union 177 out of Brunswick.  Working in his church was very important to him and he was known as the "Candyman". His grandson, Levi Harris preceded him in death along with his parents, Bennie and Jessie Harris and sisters, Linda Dixon and Frankie Eason.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Donna Bennett Harris of Jesup; son, Danny (Lynn) Harris of Jesup; two grandchildren, Payton and Rayna Harris; sisters, Sandra (Richard) Veldhuizen and Gayle (Jim) Franklin, both of Jesup; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be 11 AM Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Randy Pruitt and Pastor David Bohannon officiating. Private interment will be in the Bennett Cemetery in Screven.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
