Obituary

Odum, Ga. Charles D. "Charlie" Dunn, 73, of Odum, Georgia died Monday, October 19, 2015 of an apparent heart attack. The Wayne County, Georgia native was owner and operator of Charlie's River Restaurant in Jesup, Georgia, was an avid model train collector, enjoyed fishing and visiting with people. He was an active National Guardsman for 10 years and worked with Rayonier for 6 years. He was predeceased by his daughter, Candice "Candy" Dunn Surrency and his parents, Earl and Minnie Aspinwall Dunn. Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Barbara Withrow Dunn of Odum, Georgia; daughter, Sherry (John) NeSmith of Jesup, Georgia; grandchildren, Charles "Chad" NeSmith of Kennesaw, Georgia, Taylor (Taylor) NeSmith Domenick of Odum, Georgia, Jordyn and Kaitlyn Surrency of Odum, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Aspinwall Cemetery, 2202 Bennett Mill Pond Road, Odum, GA 31555, with Dr. Ron Wilcox officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be John Conner, Howard Ogden, Ed Withrow, Monroe Aspinwall, Jimmy Davis, Joel Greene, Sr., and David Felt.
