Mary Catherine "Cathy" Carnell, homemaker and long-time resident of Jesup, Georgia died Thursday, November 14, 2019 at her home in Axson, Georgia, after a short battle with lung cancer.  She was born September 13, 1955 in Blackshear, Georgia, to the late Vaughn Carnell and Beatrice Echols Grantham. Ms. Carnell was a true southerner who loved sitting on her porch talking with family and friends, playing with her dogs, watching SEC football, and sunbathing.  She was known and loved for being an extraordinary cook, especially her banana pudding.  Ms. Carnell was kind, mischievously funny, and loved by everyone who knew her.  She will be missed dearly. Her sister, Karen Carnell preceded her in death.

Survivors are her devoted significant other, Harley Delk of Axson; her two daughters, Shanda Pastor and husband, Adam Pastor of Malibu, California and Lacy Strickland of Brunswick; her sister, Lori Carnell Whitehead of Columbus; 5 grandchildren, Mikayla Tyre, Dylan Priester, Konner Priester, Ava Pastor, and Noa Pastor.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Pastor Alan Darsey officiating . Private family interment will be in the Raulerson Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
