Carroll Leon King, 65 died Friday, April 21, 2017 from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident. He was born in Ware County and had lived in Pierce County before moving with his family to Wayne County in 1958. The Wayne County High School graduate had started working at his father's Ford tractor dealership as a young teen. After graduation, he continued working for his father and attended numerous Ford tractor training schools. He became owner of Jesup Tractor and Equipment Repair in 1987 and operated the business with his brother-in-law and sister until he was forced to retire for health reasons in 2014. Carroll was very knowledgeable about tractor repair and appreciated all of his many customers and friends over the years. He was a member and deacon of Faith Chapel SCMC and loved his family dearly. His father, C.L. King and his sister, Debbie King, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Jackie Waits King of Jesup; two daughters, Debbie King, Ashlee(James) Smith, both of Jesup; mother, Hazel King of Jesup; 3 grandchildren, Amber Miller, Eli Smith and Christopher Smith; two sisters, Linda (Freddy)Swenson, Ann (Dwight) Bishop, both of Jesup; brother-in-law, Ray(Elizabeth) Waits of Kathleen; several nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. James Carter, Rev. Loren Bryant and Elder Jason Deal officiating. Interment will be in the Ramah Cemetery in Pierce County. Active pallbearers will be Robert and Chris Swenson, Jeff and Russell Bishop, Tanner and Vance Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Faith Chapel SCMC and longtime customers.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, April 24, 2017 at the funeral home.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
