Carole "Sue" Newman Dorsey, 80, of Jesup, Georgia passed away at home on Thursday, February 23, 2023 after a short illness. The Tennessee native and longtime resident of Wayne County was a member of Jesup Church of God and a retired budget analyst from Fort Stewart Military Base.  She enjoyed reading, ceramics and spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by a grandson, Owen Dorsey; her mother and father, Margaret Rose and Robert Earl Newman; one sister Marie [Howard] Steele; and one brother, Robert [Pauline] Newman.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry Dorsey; a daughter, Brenda [Kary] Edenfield of Braselton, Ga; a son, Gary Dorsey [Stephanie] of Jesup, Ga; 4  grandchildren, Jonathan [Lauren] Edenfield of Jefferson, Ga, Kadi Edenfield [Matthew] Carroll of Roswell, Ga, Connor Dorsey of Athens, Ga and Garrison Dorsey of Jesup, Ga;  4 great-grandchildren; and  a sister, Betty Owen of Marianna, FL.

Funeral services will be held at Rinehart and Sons Chapel 2:00 p.m., Monday, February, 27, 2023, with Chaplain Phil Bunce officiating.  Private interment will follow at Old Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before services at Rinehart and Sons Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Connor Dorsey, Garrison Dorsey, Jonathan Edenfield, Matthew Carroll, Jerry Darsey and Alan Darsey.
