Robert "Bobby" W. Waters, 79, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022.  The Illinois native had lived in Wayne County most of his life and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  He was a retired employee with Rayonier after 37 years and avid golfer and member of the Men's Golf Association. He also enjoyed hunting, collecting knives and reading history books.  The 1962 Wayne County High School Graduate played in the 1960 Championship game and received a scholarship to Furman University but opted to serve his country in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine Combat Soldier. His parents, Henry and Maudie Waters preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Faye Duhon Waters of Jesup; daughter, Melisa (Eric) Mallard of Jesup; brother, Hank (Mary Jean) Waters of Victoria, Tx.; granddaughters, Erica (Jordan) Anderson of Darien and Brittney (Brenton Fowler) Mallard of Cartersville; great grandson, Eli Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Stanley Todd and Rev. Will Bacon officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with full military rites. Active pallbearers will be his friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Golf Association and fellow employees of Rayonier.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
