Beverly Jane Akiki, 86, of Jesup, Ga. died January 11, 2024. The New York native had lived in Wayne County for the past 25 years and was a retired real estate agent and manager and in later years a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, making dolls, rescuing dogs and cats, and reading her Bible. She loved her pets, especially her dog, Blackie. She was predeceased by her husband, James Akiki and two daughters, Debra Booth and Susan Detro Holbrook.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Detro-Ryan of New York and Lori (Joe) Stevenot of Hudson, Ohio; a brother, John (Gloria) Bedell of Cowpens, South Carolina; a special grandson, Jay Holbrook (fiance', Peggy Howard) of Jesup; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wolfe Animal Hospital, 1313 W. Cherry Street, Jesup, GA 31545 or your favorite animal rescue of choice.
