Betty Jean Hutto Hortman, 75, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026 under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. The Wayne County native was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was known to be the best care giver to her entire family. Her talents included seamstress, crafter and painter. Her mother, Beatrice “Mrs. B.” Green Hutto preceded her in death along with a daughter, Barbara L. Shaw and a great grandson, Waylon.

Survivors are a son, Charles (Amanda) Batten, Jr. of Jesup and daughter, Kayle Hortman of Macon; her father, Charlie Hutto of Jesup a sister, Diane Hutto Tyre of Jesup; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Jesup City Cemetery with family speakers.
