Obituary

Betty Mullis Hodge, 87, of Jesup, Ga. died Friday, March 24, 2023.  The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup First Baptist Church and a 1953 Screven High School Graduate.  She was a former bank employee, a homemaker and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Her best name was 'Granny Betty' as she adored her grandchildren and gardening and cooking were her other favorite pastimes.  Her parents, William and Clarice Withrow Mullis preceded her in death along with her brother, Billy.

Survivors are a daughter, Pam DeCastro of Jesup; two sons, Chuck (Tesa) Hodge of Auburn, Ala., and Art (Melessa) Hodge of Jesup; sisters, Wanda (Larry) Westberry of Warner Robins and Frances (Gary) Hoffman of Archer, Fla.; brother, Fred (Zelda) Mullis of Waycross; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, March 27, 2023 at O'Quinn Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Mullis and Rev. Marien Mullis officiating. Interment will follow in the O'Quinn Cemetery with family serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
