Bessie Leonard Kersey, 86, of Valdosta, Ga. and formerly of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024.  The Wayne County native was a member of Azalea City Church of God and co-owner with her husband's business, ABC Kersey Septic Tank Services. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and in her later years, listening to Jimmy Swaggart's songs. Bessie was always a vibrant and energetic lady. Her husband, Solomon preceded her in death along with her parents, A.V. and Carra Leonard; two sons, Solomon, Jr. and Jerry Kersey; two sisters, Verna Williams and Lola Goober and brother, E.C. Leonard.

Survivors are grandchildren, Bryan Kersey, Chad (Ashley) Kersey and their mother, Charmaine Kersey, Josh, Caleb and Noah Kersey and their mother, Michelle Kersey; 3 great grandchildren, Waylon, Samuel and Lucas; several nieces, including Naomi (Jim) Culpepper and their sons, Moose and Austin Culpepper and several nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Raymond Gabbard officiating.  Private burial will follow in Jesup City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
